The U.S. Army is asking industry for a new surface-to-air missile designed specifically to shoot down small drones, a capability now central to modern battle. The Next Generation C-sUAS Missile, or NGCM, would be an extended-range, quick-response weapon for Group 2 and Group 3 unmanned aircraft, according to a Sources Sought notice that sets an August 20 deadline for responses.
