Fuego Leads Expands Leadership as It Moves Deeper into Medicare Distribution

Fuego Leads, a customer acquisition and engagement company focused on health insurance and Medicare markets, has appointed Kent Kirkwood as Chief Operating Officer and Daniel Altman as Senior Vice President of Marketing. The company announced the moves alongside Health Insurance Alliance, its health insurance advisory business that helps individuals and families compare coverage across carriers and plan types.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Palterovich said the leadership additions come at a defining moment as consumers face more complex coverage decisions and as the two businesses expand into new regions and serve an increasingly diverse customer base. Kirkwood will oversee operating infrastructure and team building, while Altman will lead marketing strategy.

Kirkwood brings more than a decade of experience in insurance marketing, agency sales and lead generation. He spent nearly seven years at AllWebLeads, served as Executive Vice President at Zander Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of NextGen Leads, and most recently was COO of The CAR Group (Norm Reeves), a top-25 U.S. dealer group, where he helped lead dealership acquisitions and co-founded an AI startup for automotive retail. He began his career in strategy consulting at Bain & Company and holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Altman joined Fuego Leads in January 2026. He previously served as Vice President of Performance Marketing at GoHealth, where he led direct-to-consumer strategy for the digital health marketplace, and earlier held senior marketing roles at Interfirst Holdings, OppFi and Enova International.

What the New Hires Signal About Fuego's Growth Strategy

Why Fuego Is Strengthening Operations

Fuego operates at the intersection of insurance carriers, digital lead generation and consumer enrollment. Kirkwood's background — operating roles at lead-generation companies, dealership acquisitions and an AI startup — points to a mandate to build scalable, repeatable processes rather than simply add headcount. Analytical view: his arrival signals that growth now depends on operational discipline and technology-enabled sales, not only marketing reach.

A Direct-to-Consumer Marketing Bet

Altman's most recent role at GoHealth is the clearest signal in the announcement. GoHealth operates a digital health marketplace focused on direct-to-consumer enrollment, which aligns with Fuego's model of digital brands, proprietary technology and data-driven marketing that connects insurers with high-intent consumers. Analytical view: hiring a performance-marketing executive from a digital marketplace suggests Fuego intends to sharpen its consumer acquisition approach and scale its own enrollment funnel as Health Insurance Alliance expands into new regions.

What Remains Unstated

The announcement contains no financial figures, enrollment numbers or specific regional targets, so the near-term impact of the appointments is hard to size. The company has not disclosed whether these hires will be followed by acquisitions or new carrier partnerships.

What to Watch From Fuego Leads' New Leadership

For insurer partners and competitors in Medicare customer acquisition, the appointments point to two priorities inside Fuego Leads: operational scale and direct-to-consumer marketing.

  • Watch whether Kirkwood's track record in dealership acquisitions and AI startups translates into partnerships, technology investments or expanded carrier relationships at Fuego and Health Insurance Alliance.
  • Competitors should expect sharper performance marketing: Altman ran direct-to-consumer strategy at GoHealth and came aboard in January, giving him time to reshape Fuego's marketing engine.
  • Carrier partners can assess whether Fuego's regional expansion produces more carrier options for consumers or simply broader marketing reach.
