Behind the Mixed Session: Profit-Taking and Stock-Specific Moves
Key Movers and Drivers
The divergence between the two bourses reflected a quiet, pre-weekend session with little in the way of broad, market-moving news. Dubai’s positive finish was supported by gains in select blue chips, particularly Commercial Bank of Dubai’s 5.9% jump, which appeared to be stock-specific rather than sector-wide. On the Abu Dhabi side, mild profit-taking following recent advances pressured the index, with notable drops in United Arab Bank and a few other names. The session’s outlier was E7 Group in Abu Dhabi, which rocketed almost 13% on low share price, possibly driven by speculative retail interest. Trading volumes across both exchanges were moderate, indicating no significant institutional repositioning.
