FSB Says Three Teenagers Planned Attack on Rosgvardiya Facility in Far East
The Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Thursday the detention of three teenagers in Russia's Far Eastern Primorsky region. The minors, residents of Nakhodka and Vladivostok, are accused of preparing a terrorist attack against a facility of the National Guard (Rosgvardiya) and collecting data on law enforcement officers involved in Moscow's military campaign in Ukraine.
According to the FSB's public relations center, the suspects acted on instructions from handlers linked to a terrorist organisation banned in Russia. They allegedly filmed the homes, workplaces, vehicles and parking spots of security personnel, and scouted locations to hide explosive devices for a planned sabotage- and terror attack.
Law enforcement opened criminal cases under articles covering state treason and participation in a terrorist group. During searches, officers seized components for homemade incendiary devices and other evidence. The FSB says the teenagers have been placed in pre-trial detention, admitted guilt and are cooperating with investigators.
