Raja Chaudhary Refutes Allegations of Swapping Daughter for Property

A bitter divorce settlement between actors Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari has resurfaced after Chaudhary publicly rejected the claim that he chose a one-bedroom flat over the custody of their daughter, Palak. In a recent interview, Shweta Tiwari had alleged that Raja refused to jointly own the property with Palak and instead demanded sole ownership, telling her, “I will sacrifice my daughter for property.”

Raja now says that narrative is false and damaging. He told Siddharth Kannan that the flat, valued at Rs 93 lakh, had originally been purchased by his father around the time of their wedding and that he was worn down by a five-year family court battle. He claimed he attended every hearing while Shweta appeared fewer than ten times, and that she failed to bring Palak to court-ordered meetings.

Chaudhary argued that needing a home after years of legal fights does not equate to giving up a child. “How can you compare a man looking for shelter with sacrificing his daughter?” he asked, adding that he had voluntarily surrendered his share in other jointly purchased properties. His remarks have placed the settlement’s interpretation in dispute once again.
