HangiKredi Brings Bank Loan Comparison Into ChatGPT
Turkey's loan comparison platform HangiKredi has launched a ChatGPT application that moves personal loan shopping into a conversational interface. Users can add HangiKredi from ChatGPT's "Plugins" section, state the loan amount and term they want in everyday language, and see offers from different banks directly in the chat.
Each listed offer shows the key cost data: the interest rate, the monthly instalment and the total repayment amount. The goal is to let a borrower compare options without visiting separate bank and comparison websites. When a user finds a suitable offer, they are directed to HangiKredi to continue the application.
At launch, the service covers personal consumption loans and deals aimed at new customers. HangiKredi says mortgage and vehicle loans, alongside other financial products, will be added gradually. Chief executive Onur Oğuz described the move as taking financial comparison to the new-generation digital spaces where users already spend time and as the start of a more personalized financial assistant.
Why the ChatGPT Channel Changes Loan Discovery
Why HangiKredi Is Opening a ChatGPT Front
The strategic logic is distribution. HangiKredi already operates a loan comparison infrastructure; placing it inside ChatGPT lets the company reach users at the moment they ask for credit rather than waiting for them to visit its own site or app. In practice, this could lower the effort required to start a comparison and give HangiKredi a visible role in an emerging AI interface. No commercial terms between HangiKredi and OpenAI were disclosed.
What Changes for a Borrower
The practical advantage is speed and plain-language access: a user can type a request such as "compare an 18-month 50,000 TL personal loan" and receive a shortlist with headline costs. But the comparison is only as useful as the data behind it. The announcement does not specify how often offers are refreshed or whether banks are ranked by price or by commercial agreements. A borrower should therefore treat the chat output as a discovery layer, not as a guaranteed final quote. Approval rates and personalized pricing still depend on the bank's credit assessment once the user moves to HangiKredi or the bank itself.
The Wider Race to Put Finance Inside AI Assistants
This launch is one data point in a broader shift: lenders, brokers and comparison platforms are testing how to make credit products available inside AI chat environments. For Turkey, HangiKredi's early move could pressure other comparison services and bank digital channels to offer similarly conversational tools. At the same time, financial promotion rules and consumer-protection expectations will matter as chat-based recommendations become a real acquisition channel.
How to Compare Loans Safely Inside ChatGPT
- Know the current limits. The plugin today covers personal loans and new-customer offers only. Mortgage and car loan comparisons are promised later, so do not use it yet for home or vehicle borrowing decisions.
- Compare total cost, not just the monthly payment. Use the three fields the plugin shows — interest rate, monthly instalment and total repayment — and judge offers by total repayment and effective annual cost.
- Treat chat results as a shortlist, not an offer. Click through to HangiKredi and verify the rate and terms with the bank before applying; final pricing depends on your credit profile.
- Protect sensitive data. Do not enter ID numbers, income details or employment information in free-form chat. Share that information only in the official application flow after you are redirected to HangiKredi or the bank.
- Watch for category expansion. HangiKredi says mortgage and vehicle loans will be added gradually. If those are your need, wait for the relevant category rather than using a personal-loan quote as a proxy.
