Cayman Airways Adds Route: Austin to Grand Cayman Gets More Flights

After a summer of strong demand, Cayman Airways is making its Austin–Grand Cayman connection a full-fledged seasonal fixture. The carrier will resume direct flights between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Grand Cayman’s Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) from December 20, 2026, through August 29, 2027. The decision follows what the airline describes as an exceptional response to its inaugural summer service, which wraps up August 16.

The new schedule includes one weekly flight for most of the season, but from May 26, 2027, through August 11, 2027, Cayman Airways will add a second weekly departure on Wednesdays to meet peak summer demand. Flights from Austin depart at 11:45 a.m. local time (12:45 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time) and arrive at 3:45 p.m. Grand Cayman time. The return leg leaves Grand Cayman at 8:15 a.m. and lands in Austin at 10:15 a.m. (11:15 a.m. during Daylight Saving).

“When we launched Austin, we saw the potential to connect the Cayman Islands with one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States,” said Cayman Airways President and CEO Fabian Whorms. “The market has responded exceptionally well, and this expansion reflects our commitment to developing routes where we see sustainable demand and long-term opportunity.”
