Audi's New Three-Row Performance Flagship Takes Shape

Audi has pulled back the curtain on the exterior of its most potent full-size SUV yet, the 2027 SQ9. The sportier sibling to the upcoming Q9 three-row flagship delivers a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 pumping out 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, earning a claimed 0-60 mph sprint of just 3.8 seconds.

Visually, the SQ9 differentiates itself from the standard Q9 with a hexagonal grille in place of the latter's upright design, along with quad exhaust outlets and a set of OLED taillights that feature a sculpted surface and multiple selectable light patterns. Matrix LED headlights that can selectively dim individual elements to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic are shared across the range.

The body blends smooth, flowing surfaces with an upright rear end, a shape that Audi says balances aerodynamic needs with three-row practicality. The SQ9 will launch later this year as a single, well-equipped trim starting at $119,395.
