Deewana's Digital Premiere Set for July 31 on Aha

Romantic drama Deewana, which marked the lead debut of Harshith Reddy and introduced Smeha Manimegalai to Telugu audiences, is heading to streaming platform Aha on July 31, 2026. The film, directed by first-time filmmaker Srikanth Sangishetty, originally hit theaters on June 19 after a one-day delay due to last-minute certification issues.

Aha Gold subscribers will be able to watch the movie a full day earlier, from July 30. The digital release includes both the original Telugu version and a Tamil-dubbed version, the latter premiering exclusively on the platform. The announcement was made via the makers' social channels, accompanied by the tagline: “If you miss it, you’ll miss a great experience.”

The theatrical run earned mixed-to-positive reviews, with particular praise for the chemistry between the lead pair. Now the producers — under banners Geetha Arts, Arha Media, and V Studios — are betting that OTT exposure will give the film a second life, reaching viewers who missed the limited cinema release.

From a Delayed Theatrical Release to a Dual-Language OTT Strategy

Certification Chaos and the Day-One Delay

Deewana’s journey to screens was bumpy. The film received an ‘A’ certificate from the Censor Board, and the production team said they did not have enough time to implement the suggested changes before the scheduled release. This forced a last-minute postponement, canceling planned premiere shows and disrupting promotional momentum. Director Srikanth Sangishetty became emotional during press events while describing the setback, but cast members including actress Jhansi publicly maintained the film was suitable for family audiences despite the adult rating.

Dual-Language Bet on Aha

The decision to make the Tamil version an Aha original exclusive is a tactical move. By offering both Telugu and Tamil streams, the makers aim to multiply the film’s addressable audience on a platform that has a strong footprint in both language markets. The 24-hour early access for Aha Gold subscribers is a standard platform tactic to drive premium membership, but it also creates a gentle buzz window before the wider July 31 rollout.

How to Watch Deewana Online in Telugu and Tamil

  • No other streaming service has been announced, so an Aha subscription is currently the only way to see the film online.
