Dacia Cuts Hybrid Duster and Bigster Prices

Dacia has cut prices on full-hybrid versions of its two best-selling SUVs, taking £1,750 off the Duster hybrid and £1,475 off the Bigster hybrid. The reductions make the Duster 155 hybrid Expression £23,345 and the Bigster 155 hybrid Expression £26,715, which Dacia says puts both among the cheapest hybrid SUVs on sale in the UK.

Entry-level equipment has moved up as well: the base Duster hybrid includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air-conditioning and cruise control. Two higher-spec Duster hybrid versions are priced at £25,045 and £25,845, adding items such as 18-inch wheels and heated seats. The Duster Cargo, at £22,495 plus VAT, keeps the hybrid system but swaps the rear seats for a 1,149-litre load area and a 430kg payload.

The 1.8-litre 155 hybrid produces 153bhp and takes both SUVs from 0-62mph in under 10 seconds, with claimed economy of more than 60mpg. Auto Express's own long-term Bigster is returning about 59mpg in real-world use. The price cuts follow Dacia's announcement of hybrid-powered 4x4 versions of both models, which sit roughly £1,000 higher in the range.
