The reassurance came after a fire broke out on two vessels at the port on 29 July 2026. The Egyptian Cabinet later disclosed that initial investigations indicate the fire was triggered by a drone. No entity has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, and authorities are continuing inquiries into the circumstances.
