Marsh Appoints Jessica Fields to Lead US Semiconductor and AI Compute Practice
Marsh has recruited Jessica Fields from Aon to head a newly created US Semiconductor and AI Compute Practice, effective August 4, 2026. Based in New York, Fields will be responsible for building industry-specific risk and insurance solutions for companies across the semiconductor and artificial intelligence infrastructure supply chain.
Fields brings more than two decades of insurance brokerage and underwriting experience, including over 11 years at Aon where she held multiple leadership roles in New York and San Francisco. Most recently, she served as executive vice president and led risk account executives while supporting senior client engagements. She began her career at Zurich and AXA XL. Michelle Sartain, president of Marsh Risk for the US and Canada, said Fields’ appointment would strengthen the firm’s ability to serve the sector as demand for AI compute capacity drives innovation and expansion.
Marsh’s Strategic Bet on AI and Chip Industry Risks
Why Marsh Is Targeting Chip and AI Risks Now
The creation of a dedicated practice reflects growing demand from semiconductor and AI compute firms for specialized risk advice. These industries face a unique mix of property, supply chain, liability and technology risks — from fabrication plant exposures to cyber and intellectual property concerns. As AI infrastructure spending accelerates, brokers that can bundle deep technical understanding with insurance placement are likely to gain an edge.
Competitive Move Against Aon
By poaching a senior leader from Aon, Marsh signals it is serious about building a franchise in this niche. Fields’ dual expertise in Silicon Valley and New York markets, plus her background in underwriting, positions her to bridge the gap between risk capital and the fast-evolving needs of semiconductor companies. The hire comes as rival brokerages also look to deepen specialist coverage in high-growth tech sectors.
